Spas of Mexico

Holistic Retreats and Spas

I've been to most of the spas in Mexico. Most of the Mexican spas are good retreats, but few are inexpensive. I ran a reservation service for all Mexican spas for years, but am no longer in that business. Discount mega-reservation sites drove boutique specialists like me out of business. That is life.  Today I am more of a hot springs guy, less pretentious. So, if you buy my book, Spas & Hot Springs of Mexico, do so only for the hot springs.

All of the Mexican spas are like U.S. spas with exercise classes, Yoga, Tai-Chi, aerobics etc. The only Mexican spa still open that has mineral waters is Rancho La Pitaya, near the city of Queretaro in the town of Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato. It is a wonderful place, but very pricey.

The Spa Ixtapan de la Sal stopped using the mineral water in their pools. The balneario or public pool next door does still have the mineral waters the city is so famous for and was remodeled in 2010. If you are looking for mineral waters, you want my hot springs section.

Soak in mineral waters that help arthritis, psoriasis, many other maladies and reduce signs of aging. Some Mexican spas are holistic retreats and some are luxury spas.

Spas and hot springs of MexicoYes, I wrote the first book on Spas and Hot Springs of Mexico, titled, oddly enough, Spas & Hot Springs of Mexico. The book is out of print, but I recently found a few copies, so contact me if you want one. The spas info is outdated, but the hot springs info is still good.
