Blues Fest in Rosarito

BLUES FEST IN ROSARITO

The Annual Baja Blues Fest in Rosarito this past weekend was held at the Rosarito Beach Hotel.  The event is sponsored by the Baja Blues Fest Organization and is an unforgettable event.  The music performances on the beach with a myriad of vendors, artists, and unique artisans.  Plenty to eat and drink as well as plenty to see and do. The Rosarito Blues Fest makes these music festivals a dynamic experience that showcases the best of a Baja summer.

The 2012 event was wildly successful. Some notable performers who you might expect include:

  • John Nemeth with the Backwater Blues Band
  • Annette da Bomb and D’ Bomb Squad
  • The Fremont
  • Wyatt Lowe and the Youngbloods
  • Scotty Blinn & Black Market III
  • Deja Blues
  • Pachuco Blues

This Pacific-side festival of blues music draws people from far and wide to share their appreciation for great live performances.  It’s a great attraction for anyone looking to spend a long weekend in Rosarito.

One of the best reasons to attend the fest is, of course, the proceeds are donated to charities like La Mision Children’s Fund and Los Angelitos Orphanage.  So support some charitable causes while you enjoy live music on the breathtaking beaches of Rosarito.  The main event is held on Saturday, but there is a pre-party event on Friday and a jam session with a party on Sunday.

Tickets

If you buy tickets in advance, you’ll save money.  Tickets at the gate on Saturday cost $25.  Tickets for Friday and Sunday at the gate cost $10.  You can purchase a 3-day pass, however, for $35.  Gates open at 10 AM.  To see the performance schedule visit bajabluesfest.org for times.  The site provides information about how tickets may be purchased in advance for the Saturday feature.

A Festival of Fun

Expect a variety of eclectic vendors for this fest selling different types of artisan-made goods as well as delicious food and wine.  Many visitors to the fest simply enjoy hearing the great music while they shop and talk to the vendors and artists or other fans of blues music.  The food is great; there will be international cuisine types represented, but many travelers who cross the border can’t wait to taste some authentic and delicious Baja cuisine. Enjoying great food and listening to music on the Baja coast—as anyone there will tell you, the simplest pleasures are the best!
